Municipalities rarely file big time lawsuits against well known corporations… well, rarely like this. Monsanto has a market capitalization of $47 Billion, which means the company is worth that in face value based on its stock price. $47 Billion is a lot of money. Granted, nothing compared to Apple Inc’s $724 Billion… but think about the difference.
Everyone on the planet who is connected to anything electronic, knows who Apple is. Just like Exxon, Google, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Suntrust to name a few of the top ten. But nobody knows who Monsanto is, until you get on track to be against them. Once that happens, NOW we know who they are. So the public attorneys in Spokane know who they are for similar reasons.

The story in Spokane is here – Spokane River Contamination
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The city of Spokane is suing the international agrochemical giant Monsanto, which it blames for pollution in the Spokane River.
The lawsuit, filed last week in U.S. District Court in Spokane, alleges that the company sold chemicals that it knew for decades were a danger to people and the environment, The Spokesman-Review reported (http://is.gd/Xx27RW ).
This is similar to what we could have guessed leading up to this.
The story, is, as you would expect, a story of presumed gross negligence. The question of course will be do you, do we, does the jury believe these accusation, and if so, what is done? I think the only objective that I would have over this lawsuit, is that a percentage more people would become aware of who Monsanto is, what they are doing, and to choose not to vote for them. Don’t let your dollars pick them over someone else. Say no to GMO’s just to say no to Monsanto. I don’t care if you believe me or not regarding their potential danger.
Say NO to GMO just because you realize you cannot trust Monsanto.
I hate that I still have some roundup in my garage… yep, Monsanto. I tell you though, last year I made up an “online” varietal of safe and non-chemical weed killer. All I got were vinegar smelling, very shiny and sudsy in the rain, weeds. But there is a better way, just pull them out. Don’t give the dollars to Monsanto.
Check out some more of this Spokane story –
“Monsanto knew that PCBs would contaminate water supplies, would degrade marine habitats, would kill fish species, and would endanger birds and animals,” the complaint says. “In addition, Monsanto knew PCBs are associated with serious illnesses and cancers in humans and that humans may be exposed to PCBs” through eating or touching fish.
Monsanto was the sole producer of PCBs between 1935 and 1979, when Congress banned them. The chemicals, developed by Monsanto as a coolant in electrical transformers and capacitors, were used in many products, including paint, hydraulic fluids, sealants and ink. According to the lawsuit, Monsanto learned by the 1930s that the chemicals were toxic, but it continued making them and concealed the danger from government officials.
Again… if you believe it, don’t support them.
