The workout of the week is more about the when and where, than it is about the what. I hope that made you a little concerned. I am asking you, all of you, to do a short workout at work… during work. And more specifically, during a time at work that you feel tired, when you really shouldn’t.

So all I want is a 4 round Burst. 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off, for 4 minutes (really its like 3 1/2 minutes). And I will let you pick the exercise. You have ONE week to try this, don’t be shy, be crazy! Do it at work! Or in a public place, at school, I don’t know, somewhere where you need to be awakened and alive when you feel dead tired!

These are your exercise options:

Squats – should width stance, squat with your butt low, below your knees, and your butt needs to be back too, not forward pushing your knees way out over your toes, they need to be back.

Walking lunges – yep, a little more obvious to the world, so you might be more embarrassed to try this in front of someone, but don’t be shy! Every step, the trailing knee should touch the floor, or as close as possible.

Push-ups – on the ground from your toes or your knees, or if those are too hard, leaning against a sofa or the wall.

Virtual Jump Rope – one of my new favorites! Hold your arms out as if holding a jump rope, and jump, timing the spin of your wrists to the jump.

OK, now you are equipped, but you probably don’t know why? Why do this? Well, I want you to learn what a small burst of high intense exercise will do for you. For your fitness, but very importantly, for your energy systems. In that short burst (30 seconds you work real hard, rest for 30 seconds, work hard the next 30, back to rest, until you have done four sessions of work), you will release so much free fatty acid into your blood stream, you will utilize this for energy, and in the process you will burn many calories in your recovery phase.

Your energy will be boost, and your fitness will increase. How awesome is that for 120 seconds of work? I would love for everyone to try it, and to post here on our web site your thoughts before and after! Thanks for playing, God Bless!

Dr. E

I wanted to give an update on the shoulder and a better understanding of the injury. This will probably benefit you some in the understanding of the shoulder joint, ligamentous healing time, and of course my current course.

The shoulder is pretty complex, yet my injury is not. There are two types of “dislocation” injuries of the shoulder. A dislocation, which is the gleno-humeral joint. This means that the humerus (arm) has somehow dislocated from the glenoid cavity. This weakens ligaments and tears them to some extent from the significant amount of stretch. I have never had one of these.

A separation involves the other joint of the shoulder, the acromio-clavicular joint (A/C). This involves the acromion proess of the shoulder blade (scapula) and the clavicle (collar bone). This singular articulation, is the only joint that holds the entire shoulder girdle onto the skeleton of the body. The rest of what holds it on, is muscle, which is why damage to this joint is usually accompanied by secondary muscle injury as well. This is my injury, and it is the eighth. I last separated my left shoulder about 20 years ago. My right one was about 13 years ago, and it was enough to completely separate it (grade III), which means all ligaments of the joint were torn completely. My right arm has hung off my body with no skeletal connection ever since.

So this one was a Grade I separation. The most mild, it was enough damage to mean – don’t push it for 3-4 weeks, and all will be healed. So I pushed it after two weeks of rest, and by the third day of adjusting, I pushed on a few people too many, and re-diagnosed myself as a Grade II the next day. This diagnosis comes from visually seeing that the joint (A/C) is more separated, and the bump of the clavicle is more pronounced. Grade II means that there is a significant amount of ligamentous tearing and stretching of the remaning tissue. My concern, justified, is that at this level the possibility of permanent disfigurement goes up, as well as permanent weakness (surgery is not the most functional for this type of problem).

As you might be able to guess, that step backwards hit me pretty hard. I didn’t think for a minute that I was in a place so susceptible that I could actually get worse from adjusting. Since that day, I have gone nearly three weeks without adjusting with my left arm at all. Then I began to add it in for some very minor support this last few days. My plan has been since the re-injury that I would not use my left arm for any pushing (adjusting the mid – upper back) or pulling (adjusting the lower back) for a total of six weeks.

Well, I have decided to re-assess once again, as my shoulder was throbbing Saturday afternoon after using my left arm for some mild assistance in the adjustments on Friday and Saturday, and I would say that the “bump” of my clavicle has once again grown. So, I am back to the plan of no use for six total weeks, but I mean no use. I need to be really wise about this. The reason is that ligaments do not heal like muscles. Muscles can heal under usage, as that keeps them from scarring. Ligaments are not supposed to stretch, ever. You want them to hold fast, and scar tissue is not of much concern as it is in muscle tissue. So every time I strrtch the ligament, I cause it to creep a bit further, thus weakening my joint.

This same principle of healing would apply to you, and any ligament injury that you might incur. Most commonly, ligamentous injuries happen to the foot/ankle or the hand/wrist. A simple sprain of either is a ligamentous injury, and I know many of you are very used to a loose, floppy foot or hand, where popping and crunching in the joint is common. These injuries are manageable in most cases, but if they get too loose, forget it.

So, here on out, I am going to continue adjusting wherever I can, but I probably will stay away from the necks as that seemed to be the “silent” damage. Not giving me any sign that I was hurting myself, but likely caused the throbbing and visual change. I will use the activator, drops, and single hand adjustments, as well as some side posture with my right hand while leveraging you with me left shoulder.

I need to say this – your adjustment is not about how you feel. You might think it is, but that is so wrong. I have told you forever, my job is not to make you feel good so you can go out into the world and die, my job is to make you function well, which has nothing to do with a “crack”. It is all about the adjustment, which is simply the pressure. If it pops or doesn’t, it does not make a difference to your health, only to that moment. If you are getting adjusted to walk away feeling different, then you look at chiropractic as glorified massage. The two are completely different.

Do not stay away because you don’t want an activator adjustment or an intern to be doing your adjusting. The interns are great, my activator is great, your nervous system health is an urgent concern. In addition, your cellular health is an urgent concern. Tuesday night is all about urgency, as I will be teaching a workshop that is so valuable to you as part of your long term neurological health comes from your pH. We never preach pH, and now we will… don’t miss this chance.

God Bless you all, I appreciate your patience for my return to full health, but don’t be patient with your spine, every single adjustment matters. Missing 1 visit out of 3 in a week, is 30% of your care, which is huge. Missing a visit every other week out of a weekly plan, is 50%. We need your commitment so that we can be committed to you! Thank you!

With all my love – Dr. E

By Dr. Mercola

Mayday! Mayday!

I’m pleased to announce that the Money Bomb Against Monsanto has been officially launched!

Yes, it is official.

Volunteers and staff from the California Right to Know Campaign are submitting nearly 1 million signed petitions from registered voters across the state of California to county officials, to place Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act on the Ballot for November 6.

Starting May 1, and extending through May 26, a broad coalition of farmers, health groups, and organic food manufacturers, will attempt to raise one million dollars (i.e. “The Money Bomb”). Donations can be made online, via regular snail mail, and over the phone. All donations will support state GMO-labeling campaigns and their defense from biotech bully lawsuits.

The Right to Know Gentically Engineered Food Act

This Act will require food manufacturers to identify genetically engineered ingredients on the labels of foods sold in California.

When California voters pass this ballot initiative, the Label Genetically Engineered Food Act will also not allow the common practice of mislabeling genetically engineered foods as “natural” or “all natural.” It’s imperative to understand why this initiative is so important and how it can affect all Americans, regardless of where you live.

California has the eighth largest economy in the world, so passing a labeling law for genetically engineered foods in California can have the same impact as passing a federal law.

Large food companies are unlikely to accept having dual labeling; one for California and another for the rest of the country. It would be an expensive logistical nightmare, not to mention a massive PR problem.

To avoid the dual labeling, many would likely opt to not include using any genetically engineered ingredients in their product, especially if the new label would be the equivalent of a skull and crossbones. Those who opt not to replace GE ingredients from the get-go will likely find themselves unable to sell their products, as a majority of consumers reportedly will not buy foods once they know they’re genetically engineered. Unable to sell their products, such companies will eventually be forced to stop contaminating our food with genetically engineered ingredients, or risk going out of business.

This is what happened in Europe and over 40 countries around the world. It can happen in the U.S. This is why we can’t leave California to battle the biotech giants on their own. They need your help! Donating funds to this campaign may be the best money you’ll spend all year to safeguard your health, and the health of your children.

Do you know which foods are genetically engineered when you go grocery shopping for your family? Wouldn’t you want to know? Genetically engineered foods have been on the market since 1996. It’s time they tell us what’s in the food we’re eating on a daily basis. Making a generous donation to this campaign is the best chance every American has at this point to make that happen!

The Proverbial David versus Goliath

Naturally, the biotech industry is not about to let this pass without a fight. Monsanto, the Farm Bureau, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, along with corporate agribusiness, are all raising millions of dollars to spread their propaganda in an effort to defeat the California Ballot Initiative, just like they did a decade ago in Oregon. At that time, a cabal of corporate giants, including Monsanto and DuPont, calling themselves The Coalition Against the Costly Labeling Law, outspent the pro-labeling group 30-1, and successfully defeated the labeling initiative by scaring voters into believing that labeling genetically engineered foods was unnecessary and would raise food prices.

They did it again in Washington state last month, where campaign contributions to three of the eight politicians on the Senate Agriculture Committee—Democrat Brian Hatfield, and Republicans Jim Honeyford and Mark Schoesler—guaranteed the bill’s demise in committee. Right now, the biotech industry is also working to defeat similar GE labeling bills in Vermont, Hawaii, Connecticut, and other states. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, Monsanto spent $8 million on their lobbying efforts in 2010 alone, and gave more than $400,000 in political contributions. Monsanto also spent $120 million on advertising, to convince consumers that genetically engineered foods are safe – despite the overwhelming scientific evidence showing otherwise.

Let’s send them a message, loud and clear: We have the right to know what they put into our food!

You can do so by making a donation right now. The money will be used to counter the industry propaganda so that we can win this ballot.

We’re Dropping the Money Bomb!

About twenty years ago, the FDA decided to deny consumers the right to know whether their food was genetically altered or not. This shameful regulation was spearheaded by Michael Taylor, a former Monsanto lawyer who transferred into the offices of the FDA. Taylor is not the only ex-Monsanto employee that ended up in a position of power within the US federal government and its regulatory agencies, and this is precisely why previous efforts to get genetically engineered foods labeled have been blocked.

Not so this time!

Ballot Initiatives like the one in California is one way for citizens to take back control from compromised politicians and government officials and bypass them entirely. To sweeten the deal further, a group of “Right to Know” public interest organizations and organic companies have pledged to match the first million dollars raised in this nationwide “Drop the Money Bomb on Monsanto Campaign.”

So click here, and help us raise 1 million dollars to win this historic campaign! These “Right to Know” groups include:

The Organic Consumers Association

Mercola.com

Food Democracy Now

Nature’s Path

Lundberg Family Farms

Eden Foods, and

The Organic Consumers Fund

Institute For Responsible Technology

Can We Win?

Yes, I believe we can! But we need to get the word out, which requires a strong campaign to educate the citizens of California to vote for the initiative on November 6. According to Ronnie Cummins of the Organic Consumers Association, we stand a good chance of winning in California because:

This time, we have far more scientific information and greater public awareness on our side. GE contamination is now a mainstream media issue. Monsanto has become the most hated corporation in the world.

This time, we have overwhelming public support. Polls show that more than 8 out of 10 voters in California want mandatory GE labeling.

This time, we have built the strongest coalition of concerned food consumers in history, for the exclusive purpose of passing this law.

The Time for Action is NOW!

Today, I ask you to invest in this Initiative. Invest in your future. And invest as generously as you can. If you’ve already sent in your donation, thank you! If not, please contribute to this historic and critical campaign today. And then please forward this email to your friends. Share it on Facebook and Twitter. Print it out, hand it to all your friends. Every action counts!

As stated by Ronnie Cummins with the Organic Consumers Association:

“Monsanto is one of the most powerful, arrogant and destructive companies in the world. For decades, they have controlled the world’s food supply by buying off politicians and regulatory agencies, intimidating small farmers, manipulating the outcome of scientific studies, lying to consumers – and threatening to sue states like Vermont if they dare to pass a GMO labeling law.

… Despite Monsanto’s claims to the contrary, scientists are clear: genetically engineered food has been linked to a wide range of health hazards, including kidney and liver damage, infertility, auto-immune disorders, allergies and autism, accelerated aging, and birth defects…

We have the right to know if the food we buy has been genetically engineered…. It’s time to take back our food. Our farms. Our power. It’s time to show Monsanto what ordinary people like us can do when we come together. It’s time to drop the money bomb on Monsanto.”

Hundreds of thousands of people making small donations can help the coalition behind this initiative run a dynamic, effective campaign to bring down Monsanto and the rest of the Biotech Bullies.

So please, join us, and make a donation right now! You can donate online, by phone, or by dropping a check in the mail.

Drugs at anyone’s discretion?. Not too sure if this is wise. But then, I am not too sure I am against it. As many of you know, my father was a pharmacist, and if he was the only one influencing a patients decision to take a statin drug, a lot less people would have taken them. It’s an odd question for me to even consider. Read on, what do you think? I really don’t care because in the end, people need to make their own choices.

(NaturalNews) When it comes to freedom of food choice, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers Americans to be too stupid to make their own dietary choices. But when pharmaceuticals are involved, the FDA apparently thinks individuals should be able to completely self-medicate themselves without a prescription, having recently proposed new guidelines that would make it easier than ever for patients to access high-risk prescription drugs without even having to see a doctor.

The Washington Times reports that a new four-page proposal made by the FDA suggests that cholesterol (statins), diabetes, and asthma drugs, among others, be made available over-the-counter (OTC) to patients without a prescription. And what is the reason for this? According to the agency, too many patients are not getting their prescriptions filled, and many would-be patients are not going in to receive the treatments that their medical overlords feel they should be receiving.

The drug industry, in other words, is losing profits because many patients simply are not participating in the health care system as we know it. So to help boost participation, the drug industry’s gatekeeper, the FDA, is working on behalf of Big Pharma to make prescription drugs as easy to access as a candy bar or a pack of gum, even though prescription drugs are typically extremely high-risk and come with severe side effects.

“The FDA has not offered any evidence establishing that it is safe, or patient outcomes are improved, when patients with hypertension, [high cholesterol], asthma or migraine headaches self-diagnose and manage these (or other) serious chronic medical conditions on their own,” said Dr. Sandra Fryhofer, who testified on behalf of the American Medical Association (AMA) at an FDA-held public hearing recently.

But this has not stopped the FDA, Big Pharma, and various pharmacist groups from arguing that there are somehow too many barriers to patients accessing deadly pharmaceuticals. The FDA’s proposal, in fact, explicitly views having to see a doctor before being allowed access to prescription drugs an “unnecessary hindrance,” according to Sarah Kliff from the Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com).

Both sides fighting for the same goal – to maximize prescription drug use

Meanwhile, both sides of the debate appear to be concerned about one thing, and one thing only — getting as many people as possible to take their prescription drugs. Peter Carmel from the AMA, for instance, told the Washington Post that he is concerned patients will not take their prescription drugs unless they first see a doctor, while the other side says having to see a doctor deters too many patients from accessing prescription drugs.

In either case, the medical-industrial complex is primarily concerned with drug company profits rather than patient safety. And the FDA, which is also busy aggressively harassing and tyrannizing family farmers selling raw milk to willing customers (http://www.naturalnews.com/033280_FDA_raids_timeline.html), is an active co-conspirator in this drug industry scam to basically deregulate prescription drugs to boost industry profits.

You can view the FDA proposal, entitled Using Innovative Technologies and Other Conditions of Safe Use To Expand Which Drug Products Can Be Considered Nonprescription (Docket No. FDA-2012-N-0171), here:

The 20 Day Nutrition Challenge… what is it? The Challenge is simply to challenge you to take the next 20 days to identify areas of your life/diet that you could alter to improve. Here are some examples:

Reduce sugar in any form: For some it could be real sugar, for others it could be the glycemic load of the vegetables that you eat. Do you see the dichotomy? One person might be drinking 4 sodas a day, and it would be ridiculous for that person to start nitpicking their red peppers vs a green pepper. But for that person who is eating rich glycemis load veggies all day, and missing out on the low carb, low glycemic load of the leafy greens, it would be a good place to start.

Find value in the right kind of dairy: I had taught no dairy is best for about seven years. Arguing that Biblical dairy was likely sheep and goat. Though, some historical reference suggests that is wrong. So we slowly started adding a little dairy back in. Pasture Butter, Pasture Cream (basically the rich fats from a grass fed cow). Now we have added appropriate cheeses to that list and dairy products that actually offer some health benefits that you cannot get anywhere. In short, this has really changed my mind to how to look at dairy. Does Casein stink? Yep. Can people be lactose intolerant, yep. So there are guidelines, rules and self assessments that must take place to really know where you are, but I would pretty much take the knowledge I have to full debate with any paleo preaching educator on the planet.

Change your meat: figure out how to introduce healthier meats, what to avoid in processed meats, and how to make healthier taste good to your taste buds. I love a grass fed burger, but I know a lot of you have complained that you don’t! This should change, and becoming a master of the additives and spices will help! Sautee some onions in coconut oil, mix them into the beef before grilling, and you will have a hard time disliking grass fed beef ever again. Or try some “montreal steak” seasoning on your t-bones (just don’t buy the one with hydrogenated oil in it). Point is, there is a way to like what will keep you alive and well.

Fix Your pH: one HIGHLY neglected area of discussion, is pH. Alkaline vs Acid. Though a truly healthy diet will make that change very well over time, there are some strategies to help rapidly improve the acid/alkaline environment of your body. This is CANCER that we are talking about here. Mutation runs rampant in an acidic environment, then it runs wild once it occurs. This is a very important piece of the puzzle. I have found more highly devoted people are missing the big picture because of this ONE thing.

Plan For Life: how do you keep on the path? Family meal planning is important, because nobody stays focused in a family full of bad eaters. Try avoiding all sugar when you have to look beyond the ice cream every night as you pull out the beef for dinner. Eventually, you end up falling back into the poor lifestyle. BUT if everyone in the household is on the plan, then it gets much easier! How do you feed your kids in this world? We’ll sit down for a fireside chat of sorts, and work through those strategies.

The Plan – Starting Monday night, we will have the first primary diet overview at 6:45pm. This and the last class are the HealthSprout hosted events. Then, if you don’t want to do all of them, but you are really interested in the pH portion of the class, on 5/15, Tuesday night at 6pm at Riverstone Church we will hit up some good information on pH and the superfoods that need to be in your diet. This class can be attended without paying the $20 for the whole 20 day challenge, but you need to pre-register and you can pay just $5 for this class, or $10 at the door.

Do you want to lose some weight for the summer? This is your answer, get on it, do it now… take it serious and you will be rewarded! Thanks for caring, I do.

Be Blessed! - Dr. E

I am human, I have human characteristics that are strong… because, I am human. Just like everyone else. So, let me help you understand why we all do this, this giving up for a period of time thing. So if you have been reading along, you know that I have had a hip problem going on for over a year. Not too serious, just on and off (all started with an injury where I was pushing to improve my hip flexibility, and I went too far).

Of course, you are all aware of the mountain bike fall I had about five weeks ago, which resulted in a Grade I separated shoulder. I came back to adjusting too soon, and now I have a Grade II separated shoulder. Between the hip and the shoulder, I have had about 8 straight weeks of injury interrupting life. Soooo, what do we do when you can’t do what we want to do? When you cannot be as active as you like, you cannot accomplish the tasks that are in front of you?

Well, we often become a bit depressed, and let some things slip just a bit. Yep, that is me. So for about 8 weeks I have let my diet slip. I tend to be an 80-90% good, 10-20% not so good kind of eater. I take two times a year to usually eat very strict, and then just be on the good path the rest of the time. Well, though I have been eating a ton of healthy greens, and my healthy fats… I have been letting myself indulge in more sugar than I EVER would allow, but it has been primarily out of that emotion that shows up when you are feeling pitiful, small, weak.

So, today I identified that, and I am making the switch! But what is really important about this, is to understand how devastating the poor choices can be to the health that you crave. When your body is a bit broke, that is the time that you need wise choices more than ever. Healing comes from a nervous system that is well aligned. And that nervous system then utilizes building blocks to put it all together. So my building blocks have been sad.

Let me take you through the separated shoulder, so you can understand what I mean. Falling on your shoulder hard will give you one of two injuries. A broken clavicle, or a separated shoulder. I won’t ever break a clavicle, as mine have such a steep angle to the shoulder joint that they will always separate first (I know, this is my 8th cumulative separation). When the joint separates, the ligaments that hold the collarbone (clavicle) to the shoulder blade are weakened and stretched. Healing is hopeful for no permanent disfigurement, but it requires that the ligaments tighten and heal strong.

Adjusting is probably the absolute worse action for this joint to heal. I have been able to pull and hold without issue, but to straighten the arm and push… all of the force is directed back at the joint, and it is stretched every time you push. I figured the tape would be enough to hold, but it wasn’t. But you have to wonder, if I had been eating perfectly clean, would I have had the setback that I did? I have a Grade III separation on my right shoulder that happened in the National Championship Hockey Game against Michigan State 13 years ago. I can tell you that I DO NOT want another Grade III shoulder. This has been a thorn in my side ever since, and if there was a good surgery for it, I would jump at it.

So, the message – we all fall off track once and awhile, the most important thing is when we get back on! The good news for you, is that though the activator as a technique, does not correct spines. Using it as a tool for corrective adjusting, will still correct spines! So don’t stay away, if you want to become as healthy as possible, then come and get adjusted, and if you prefer me, over an intern, then I will use the activator to keep you on the health path. It won’t feel the same, but it will do the job!

Be well, and be blessed this weekend, Dr. E

I am sharing an article from Natural News today. If you don’t look at that site, please check it out, it is worth receiving email updates!

Here is the post:

(NaturalNews) There is a conspiracy of selling out happening in America. Politics and personal interest it would seem determine government policies over and above health and safety issues. When President Obama appointed Michael Taylor in 2009 as senior adviser for the FDA, a fierce protest ensued from consumer groups and environmentalists. Why? Taylor used to be vice president for Monsanto, a multinational interested in marketing genetically modified (GM) food. It was during his term that GMO’s were approved in the US without undergoing tests to determine if they were safe for human consumption.

The danger of GMO’s

The question of whether or not genetically modified foods (GMO’s) are safe for human consumption is an ongoing debate that does not seem to see any resolution except in the arena of public opinion. Due to lack of labeling, Americans are still left at a loss as to whether or not what is on the table is genetically modified. This lack of information makes the avoiding and tracking of GM foods an exercise in futility. Below are just some of the food products popularly identified to be genetically modified:

1.Corn- Corn has been modified to create its own insecticide. The U.S.Food and Drug Administration (FDA)has declared that tons of genetically modified corn has been introduced for human consumption. Monsanto has revealed that half of the US’s sweet corn farms are planted with genetically modified seed. Mice fed with GM corn were discovered to have smaller offspring and fertility problems.

2.Soy- Soy has also been genetically modified to resist herbicides. Soy products include soy flour, tofu, soy beverages, soybean oil and other products that may include pastries, baked products and edible oil. Hamsters fed with GM soy were unable to have offspring and suffered a high mortality rate.

3.Cotton- Like corn and soy, cotton has been designed to resist pesticides. It is considered food because its oil can be consumed. Its introduction in Chinese agriculture has produced a chemical that kills cotton bollworm, reducing the incidences of pests not only in cotton crops but also in neighboring fields of soybeans and corn. Incidentally, thousands of Indian farmers suffered severe rashes upon exposure to BT cotton.

4.Papaya- The virus-resistant variety of papaya was commercially introduced in Hawaii in 1999. Transgenic papayas comprised three-fourths of the total Hawaiian papaya crop. Monsanto bestowed uponTamil Nadu Agricultural Universityin Coimbatore technology for developing papaya resistant to the ringspot virus in India.

5.Rice- This staple food from South East Asia has now been genetically modified to contain a high amount of vitamin A. Allegedly, there are reports of rice varieties containing human genes to be grown in the US. The rice will create human proteins useful for dealing with infant diarrhea in the 3rd world.China Daily, an online journal, reported potential serious public health and environment problems with genetically modified rice considering its tendency to cause allergic reactions with the concurrent possibility of gene transfers.

6.Tomatoes- Tomatoes have now been genetically engineered for longer shelf life, preventing them from easily rotting and degrading. In a test conducted to determine the safety of GM tomatoes, some animal subjects died within a few weeks after consuming GM tomatoes.

7.Rapeseed- In Canada, this crop was renamedcanolato differentiate it from non-edible rapeseed. Food stuff produced from rapeseed includes rapeseed oi (canola oil) l used to process cooking oil and margarine. Honey can also be produced from GM rapeseed. German food surveillance authorities discovered as much as a third of the total pollen present in Canadian honey may be from GM pollen. In fact, some honey products from Canada were also discovered to have pollen from GM rapeseed.

8.Dairy products- It has been discovered that 22 percent of cows in the U.S. were injected with recombinant (genetically modified) bovine growth hormone (rbGH). This Monsanto created hormone artificially forces cows to increase their milk production by 15 percent. Milk from cows treated with this milk inducing hormone contains increased levels of IGF-1 (insulin growth factors-1). Humans also have IGF-1 in their system. Scientists have expressed concerns that increased levels of IGF-1 in humans have been associated with colon and breast cancer.

9.Potatoes- Mice fed with potatoes engineered with Bacillus thuringiensis var. Kurstaki Cry 1 were found to have toxins in their system. Despite claims to the contrary, this shows that Cry1 toxin was stable in the mouse gut. When the health risks were revealed, it sparked a debate.

10.Peas- Peas that have been genetically modified have been found to cause immune responses in mice and possibly even in humans. A gene from kidney beans was inserted into the peas creating a protein that functions as a pesticide.

The GMO link to strange disease

As early as 2008, NaturalNews.com reported about a condition called Morgellon’s disease. The article went on to report the symptoms of the disease as follows: crawling, stinging, biting and crawling sensations; threads or black speck-like materials on or beneath the skin; granules, lesions. Some patients report fatigue, short term memory loss, mental confusion, joint pain and changes in vision. Furthermore, there have been reports of substantial morbidity and social dysfunction leading to a dip in work productivity, job loss, total disability, divorce, loss of child custody and home abandonment.

Prior to its reporting, the condition was dismissed as a hoax, but upon further investigation, the evidence pointed out that the disease was real and may be related to genetically modified food.

Despite this link being established, the CDC declared Morgellon’s disease of unknown origin. Worse, the medical community could not offer any information to the public regarding a cause for the symptoms.

When a research study was conducted on fiber samples taken from Morgellons patients, it was discovered that the fiber samples of all the patients looked remarkable similar. And yet, it did not seem to match any common environmental fiber. When the fiber was broken down, and it’s DNA extracted, it was discovered to belong to a fungus. Even more surprising was the finding that the fibers contained Agrobacterium, a genus gram-negative bacteria with the capacity of transforming plant, animal and even human cells.

Morgellon’s disease is not the only condition associated with genetically modified foods. A growing body of evidence has shown that it may cause allergies, immune reactions, liver problems, sterility and even death. Moreover, based on the only human feeding experiment conducted on genetically modified food, it was established that genetic material in genetically modified food product can transfer into the DNA of intestinal bacteria and still continue to thrive.

Heeding the warning

Time and again, theAmerican Academy of Environmental Medicine(AAEM) has warned that GMOs pose a serious threat to health, and it is no accident that there can be a correlation between it and adverse health effects. In fact, the AAEM has advised doctors to tell their patients to avoid GMOs as the introduction of GMOs into the current food supply has correlated with an alarming rise in chronic diseases and food allergies.

This should come as no surprise. More than 30 years ago a food supplement called L-trytophan killed 100 people and affected 5,000 to 10,000 more. The cause was narrowed down to the genetic engineering process used in its production. If the symptoms had not had three simultaneous characteristics – namely, they were unique, acute and fast-acting – the disease could never have been identified.

If science could assure us with certainty that serious consequences do not wait for us at the end of the line, it might be to our best interest to let this opportunity pass. Progressive thinking in terms of profit is certainly not wrong. But to brush off precaution on the convenient argument that there is not enough evidence to prove that GM food is indeed harmful is sheer irresponsibility. It certainly is a lame excuse to offer in the event that GM foods are indeed proven to contain health hazards.

So we are having a Luau of sorts on Monday (no pig involved), but we are serving grass fed beef hot dogs in the afternoon, and some flavorful eggs for breakfast! I decided to throw together some info about the products that we are going to be offering. So check it out:

Hot Dogs are an American Classic. We had given them up completely for years (my wife and I), and after having kids, started exploring the idea of hot dogs with Applegate Farms, and with trader joes brand as well. Our key focus then, “Is the hot dog free of nitrites and nitrates, and is it truly an organic, BEEF ONLY hot dog?” Questions were answered to our expectations, so we started in.

Then the evolution of the hot dog brings us to Grass Fed. Applegate also got a check mark there, as they had grass fed. But then, with greater knowledge, we move towards 100% grass fed. And this is where I now strongly believe that Applegate grain finishes their beef. This is from a review of their web site, and them not saying otherwise.

http://www.applegatefarms.com/grass_fed.aspx

So the Beyond Organic Dogs are the only ones that I have seen that fit the full bill of health!

Enjoy trying these hot dogs this afternoon!

All you need to do is read the Daily Sprouts to know how we feel about Amasai. We started receiving testimonials on this product the very first day we had it in stock. We had our first patient go from an oncoming cold, to feeling perfect within about 12 hours.

Last quarter, intern Craig had a similar bout, and was feeling great overnight. We had a strep throat recently get over it in ONE DAY after using the probiotic BOMB which we call Amasai!

The new flavors are awesome to taste, and carry great extra benefit.

What has made Reign Awaken a Family Favorite in my household, is the fact that you have the “essence” of these rich flavored compounds in a drink with NO stimulant present. There is NO caffeine, and yet when you drink this water, you feel an invigoration that seems to border on the stimulation of coffee, while preserving your cyclic AMP!

Taste this product today, and get a sense of why I am recommending this as a water replacement for daily coffee consumption.

At $25 a case, you could scoff at the price, or you could pay that to save you in health concern savings, and Starbucks money!

I hope this answers some questions for you, and if you want to learn more, go HERE!

Looking forward to a fun time, I will be adjusting with the activator, or letting the interns adjust, so choose if you prefer an activator from me, or a manual adjustment from the interns.

Be well and be blessed! – Dr. E
